No, it’s not true: currently, the average cancer cure rate is close to 60%.

Some time ago I happened to read a discussion on Tony Isaacs’s Curezone, on the best treatment for breast cancer. The thread was started by a woman who had just been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tony Isaacs’ partner Luella May suggested the forum member paint her breasts with iodine to combat the cancer and advised strongly against surgery and all other forms of conventional cancer treatments:

Vaccinations To Be Compulsory?

Child being vaccinatedJust now on the twelve o’clock BBC news I heard that Sir Sandy Macara, former chairman of the British Medical Association, thinks that children should not be allowed to enter school when they have not been immunised. It also made headlines in today’s Guardian.

Immunisation is not compulsory in the UK. However, Welsh health minister Edwina Hart is looking at ways to make MMR vaccinations compulsory. There have been a number of serious oubreaks of measles in Wales the past years. Read more of this post

Is there hope after all?

The first was from a lady whose mother is suffering from cancer. During her mother’s illness, this lady searched the internet for information on cancer and decided it would be a good idea to collect everything she found in one place. So she started a blog.

She says on her blog: “I wanted to have a place where all the information I was researching on the internet could be stored in one convenient location (…). In addition, I wanted to make sure that all the information was positive, so having our own blog made that easy.”  Read more of this post

Things like emotional stress and events of great personal significance can push us toward magical meaning-making.

Magical thinking is widespread and most of the time it’s harmless, such as the use of mascots in sports. But there is a tipping point, beyond which it can become quite sinister and even deadly.
